Everything grows towards the sun. It is the light of life and so we exist. Not only does the sun provide us with a rush of warmth, but it also is crucial for the body to nourish and help us maintain our bodies.
Sunlight helps stimulate the body and energizes us within. Most importantly, sunlight helps us maintain a healthy immune system and promotes a good mood and mental wellness.
Right now, the shorter daylight hours of winter can negatively affect sleep, productivity and mood so it’s important to surround ourselves with positive energies. This could be anything that brings you joy. Friends, pets, your own quiet time, walk on the beach what ever it is just live in the moment. Live in the Now!
******Light therapy (also known as phototherapy)emits full-spectrum light to simulate sunlight. While still a treatment being investigated, light therapy has been shown to have positive benefits in addressing many health issues, including Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), severe premenstrual syndrome, bulimia, and as a non-drug treatment for depression. Seattle is known for its gloomy climates and may have benefited from this form of therapy.
Like most people I know, they have a lot of fear and anxiety triggered by stress.Your skin is your largest living organ in our bodies and we habitual absorb stress and negativity here. However, we can learn to flush this out before disease begins to take root.
Signs of stress or anxiety.
1. Soar Muscles
2. Muscles Twitching
4. Stomach Cramps
6. Dry Skin
7. Trouble Focusing
Exercise really work wonders. I love yoga nd Qi Gong the various forms of twists and breathing really balances you. However, we can’t always work out at out desk when we are having a stressful moments. However, here are a few tricks you CAN do while at work.
Place your thumbs on your temples and let your fingers rest on your forehead. Put some pressure on your temples and breath in deeply and exhale deeply through your mouth.Do this all long as you need. You may feel a little light headed but that just shows you needed it.
Take your right hand and rub the top of your left hand. Now do the same but using taps.Make sure you are breathing deeply through your nose and exhaling through the mouth. Now swithc hands and take your left hand and rub the top of the right hand.
I keep a daily log of things that I am grateful for.Ususally, right before I get ready to go to bed, I will write a journal entry. This doesn’t have to be long. Ex:I am grateful for a great day, lunch with my friends, etc.I learned that the immune system’s natural killer cell activity is negatively affected by three “distress indicators” – one of which is lack of social support. One study of 75 medical students found that those who were lonely had more sluggish natural killer cells than students who were social.
Research has also shown that people who care for companion animals have less illness than people who do not. Companion animals’ owners also recover from serious illness faster.
My grandpa kept a small little Maltese dog with him and it brought him so much joy to care for this animal and I think it kept his mind off of his own illness. When he passed this dog cried and cried. They had such a loving bond that the dog died not too long after.
Laughter is also a good medicine for any malaise.I had an uncle who was terminally ill with cancer. He was cracking jokes till the day he died. Doctors said he should have died years ago.
I remember walking into his medical room I would see the nurses walking out laughing with tears in their eyes. He lived such a long time.
In observing others I find often people who focus on “me” and “mine” in their actions or casual speech are more prone to illness. This is caused by an unresolved emotional disturbance.
We’ve all have struggles and being grateful for what you have and not on what you don’t have, affects both our physical and emotional well-being.
We are all responsible for our own happiness.Leave the past in the past and be grateful you have a second chance to enjoy what the universe has to offer.
I say this to myself every day to program my mind from negative thoughts.
Healthy am I, Happy am I, Holy am I
I am loved beyond measure.
I and worthy to receive.
I am enough.
All my needs are met. I live in a state of balance and harmony.
Love and light my friends!
I’ve always been interested in energy.Even in my sons Karate class his Sensei speaks of how to transfer your opponents energy for protection. Working for the government I hear of new energy programs having to do with magnetic energy in our military defense programs.
Energy is everywhere, it can not be destroyed..only transformed.Qi gong transforms negative into positive energy. Those with hot hands are more incline to Reiki Energy, like myself.I stumbled into Qi Qong to find various methods of relaxation besides yoga. I needed to balance my mental and emotional states and had a fondness for chakra balancing.I’ve also always been draw to aroma and massage therapy so reiki was right up my alley.
Sometimes even while thinking of reiki my hands activate and begin to feel warm and tingley.I always sensed peoples emotional disturbances with great accuracy. These are the emotions they hide and not the ones they portray. However, I would always absorb their negative energy and sometimes I would feel drained and sick at times.I would absorb their malaise and they would all of a sudden be in better spirits.
Since then I’ve learned to protect myself and to observe and not absorb.
Reiki has taught me many things.Thare are so many energies around us that we do not see and we consciously do not feel but they are there and they do effect us in many ways.
I have been practicing Reiki I and II on my self ,my children and even my pet. However, I intend to be a master so I can attune my children and hopefully they can carry it on.
I’ve incorporated Reiki into my massage and aromatherapy.Alot of the times people do not know that I am doing it but I do let them know they may feel tired and may secrete the toxins from their bodies in several different ways.
Reiki has been a blessing.!
